Presenter: Jim Coyle, Senior Public Sector Channel Systems Engineer, FireEye

Presenters Bio: Jim Coyle is the Senior US Public Sector Channel Engineer at FireEye, helping Federal, State, and Local Government, as well as Education institutions, understand today’s types of attacks, threat agents, and how to defend against them. For over a decade Jim has been working in the federal security industry in various capacities supporting the US Armed Forces both here at home, and abroad specializing in secure communication channels. This has provided Jim a solid background with intricate cryptologic systems, networks, and security architectures in the most demanding and challenging environments. Jim now takes his passion to help Government leadership and executives understand the ties between geo-political events on the world stage and complex cyber security issues.

Presentation Summary: There is no doubt that insider threats pose a significant risk to tribal governments, citizens and Native and non-Native organizations, as they can compromise sensitive and confidential data. Join FireEye’s Jim Coyle, Senior Public Sector Channel Systems Engineer, as he discusses how organizations must stay vigilant against external threats while keeping a keen eye on the risk that insider threats pose. Jim will also address what an insider threat looks like to your organization, what assets and systems are targeted by inside threat actors and steps to secure your organization against these threats.

How Drones and Drone2Map Can Impact Your Tribal Lands

Presenter: Lain Graham, National Government Solution Engineer at Esri

Presenter Bio: Lain Graham is a Solution Engineer on the National Government Civilian and Sciences Team. She primarily supports Tribes, EPA and Census. She is an FAA certified drone pilot and a registered professional Archaeologist. She holds a BA in Physical Anthropology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, an MA in BioArchaeology from Georgia State University and she is in the final stages of her Ph.D. at the University of Central Florida where she is studying Sociology and GIS. In her position at Esri Lain assists federal agencies like tribes with the adoption and optimization of the ArcGIS platform to drive meaningful business solutions.

Presenter: Steven R. Marien, LS, CFedS, Geographic Information Officer at the Mohegan Tribe

Presenter Bio: Steven R. Marien, LS, CFedS, CAD/GIS Document Control Director, Geographic Information Officer; Connecticut licensed Land Surveyor; Certified Federal Surveyor, with 28 years of combined experience working with spatial information. Steven has spent the last 15 years developing a comprehensive spatial information program at Mohegan and providing the leadership and vision required to develop an effective Enterprise GIS in support of the Tribe’s strategic objectives including cultural and environmental preservation, land management, business growth, infrastructure life-cycle management and risk management.

Presentation Summary: Commercial drones are making remote sensing a personal technology. This webinar will navigate use cases, best practices, and common workflows. Esri’s Drone2Map application allows for the easy processing of drone imagery and the production of accurate, high-resolution 2D and 3D information products. You will hear about the Mohegan Tribe’s application of drone imagery and GIS technology from Steve Marien of the Mohegan Tribe and see a demonstration of Drone2Map from Esri’s Lain Graham.

Presenter: Ian McIntyre, Security Analyst at Varonis

Presenter Bio: Ian McIntyre is a Security Analyst on the Security Architecture and Incident Response team at Varonis. In his position at Varonis, Ian helps customers understand and implement the full scope of Varonis’ detection and alerting capabilities, as well as assisting with cybersecurity investigations. Ian holds an MS in Information Security Policy & Management and previously worked as a Security Analyst with the U.S. Navy at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, and at the CERT Insider Threat Center at CMU-SEI.

Presenter: Justin McErlean, Commercial Sales Representative

Presenter Bio: Justin McErlean is an Account Manager on the US Public Sector team focused on Sovereign Nations. At Varonis, Justin works with tribes to strengthen their security infrastructures, educating them on modern-day threats like Ransomware/Phishing and ultimately what the best practices are when it comes to protecting their network/data. As of today, he currently works with 23 tribes and is constantly working on a multitude of different challenges varying from data protection to compliance and combatting insider threats. Prior to Varonis, Justin obtained a Bachelor’s Degree from Penn State and his Master’s Degree in Criminology from John Jay College.
