How To Achieve Continuous Operations Throughout Your Tribal Community
Presenter: Sanjay Wadhwa, Data Storage Category Manager, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE)
Presenter Bio: Sanjay Wadhwa is currently the North America Category Manager for the HPE Storage business unit. He has been with HPE for 9 years and has worked as an Enterprise Solutions Architect for storage solutions supporting Boeing, REI, Microsoft and General Motor where he designed multi-petabyte high performing SAN solutions to smaller solution Hyper-Converged Solutions for smaller remote sites. Prior to joining HPE, Sanjay worked as a Pre-Sales Technical Consultant with EMC where he designed Enterprise Systems Monitoring and Configuration Management solutions.
Sanjay has a Master degree in Computer Sciences from Chico State University and a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Electronics from Mumbai University, India. Sanjay makes his home in Seattle Washington with his wife Andrea and dogs Clio and Cooper.
Presentation Summary: According to Gartner’s IT Glossary, Continuous Operations is defined as, “Those characteristics of a data-processing system that reduce or eliminate the need for planned downtime, such as scheduled maintenance. One element of 24-hour-a-day, seven-day-a-week operation.” The idea behind continuous operations is that operations never stop. Hardware and software solutions are put in place to eliminate planned maintenance, and applications will continue to service customers until they’re switched over to newer versions.
The value of continuous operations can be tied to the cost of downtime. For tribal gaming operations, casinos lose money whenever their machines are down. For tribal healthcare organizations, lives can literally be at stake if a doctor cannot access patient data. Continuous operations can require new approaches to your IT platform. These can include solution elements such as transformation to hybrid cloud, the use of containers, peer persistence, robust data backup, and data recovery. Businesses who transform their IT infrastructure for continuous operations will be at a competitive advantage. This webinar will help you understand what it will take to get to that advantage.
