Presenter BIO: Ian McIntyre is a Security Analyst on the Security Architecture and Incident Response team at Varonis. In his position at Varonis, Ian helps customers understand and implement the full scope of Varonis’ detection and alerting capabilities, as well as assisting with cybersecurity investigations. Ian holds an MS in Information Security Policy & Management and previously worked as a Security Analyst with the U.S. Navy at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, and at the CERT Insider Threat Center at CMU-SEI.

Presenter: Justin McErlean, Federal Account Executive, Varonis

Presenter BIO: Justin McErlean is an Account Manager on the US Public Sector team focused on Sovereign Nations. At Varonis, Justin works with tribes to strengthen their security infrastructures, educating them on modern-day threats like Ransomware/Phishing and ultimately what the best practices are when it comes to protecting their network/data. As of today, he currently works with 30 tribes helping with a multitude of different challenges from data protection to compliance to combatting cyber threats. Justin holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Penn State and a Master’s Degree in Criminology from John Jay College of NYC.

Presenter Bio:  As General Manager and Chief Operating Officer of NewCore Wireless, Albert is responsible for overseeing the business, technical and day-to-day operations of the company. Albert has 30 years of experience in wireless communications and is considered one of the leading experts in wireless communications. Having worked on all aspects of engineering and operating a wireless network, his knowledge and understanding of rural wireless networks is unrivaled. Previously, Albert served as Director of Network Engineering and Operations at St. Cloud Wireless Holdings. During this time, Albert guided the team through technology changes, network expansions, system integrations and finally transitions to Verizon and Sprint.

Summary: NewCore wireless in partnership with Nokia and Edge services will provide an overview of the FCC’s recent initiative to allocate valuable 4G and 5G EBS spectrum to federally recognized tribes.  Topics will include the filing window, tribal action items to be  addressed prior to August 3rd as well as explaining the buildout requirements to maintain ownership of the EBS asset.  Nokia is one of the global leaders in wireless communications infrastructure and will demonstrate how their technology can be deployed delivering a complete voice and data solution allowing tribal entities to take control of their wireless services and eliminate the reliance on other providers to meet the tribal needs.

Presentation Summary: The Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework for Azure is proven guidance that’s designed to help you create and implement the business and technology strategies necessary for your organization(s) to succeed in the cloud. It provides best practices, documentation, and tools that cloud architects, IT professionals, and business decision makers need to successfully achieve their short- and long-term objectives for the cloud.

By using the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework for Azure best practices, you can better align your business and technical strategies to ensure success. The CAD (Cloud Adoption Framework) is implemented in 4 main phases and 2 sub phases. First, Define the strategy; understand motivations, business outcomes, business justification, and the first adoption project. Next the Plan phase; Rationalize the data, initial organization alignment, skills readiness planning and cloud adoption timeline. Then the Ready phase; dive into readiness guide, define landing zone, expand the blueprint and validate best practices. The final phase, Adoption, is grouped into two different alignments. One is migrate the other is innovate. The two sub categories are Govern and Manage which will be covered under Plan, Ready and Adopt.
