Israel Stone, Director of Organizational Development with Little River Casino & Resort speaking on Pillars of Developing the Next Generation of Tribal Member Leadership

Educating, developing and training tribal members is a top priority at every tribal organization, government, and enterprise across the country.  But, do tribes have the programs in place to make this happen?  Israel Stone, Director of Organizational Development with Little River Casino & Resort says that if tribal traditions were followed, developing our next generations would be a simple thing.  But most tribes today struggle with it.  “Traditionally, most clans had a system that would develop the upcoming generations,” Israel said.  And this is why he has focused on bringing the culture, value and teachings of his tribe back into the casino’s employment programs.  “There are three components that need to come together to develop the unique systems that can develop tribal systems,” he said.  “Tribal culture, company culture, and leadership culture.”  Israel has done this at Little River Casino with multiple programs and training plans put in place so they have the tools to  make this happen.
